Jeanine Spencer spent Saturday December 21st with the Child Life staff at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital, accepting gifts delivered by parents, families and organizations throughout the day.  The Spencer Foundation through the generosity of so many, collected 136 items (toys and arts & craft supplies)  as well as 63 gift cards.
Quotes from Child Life staffers:
“This holiday season the Child Life Radio Flyer wagons at Stony Brook Children’s put on a lot of mileage spreading holiday cheer to one and all.” – Laura (shown here with Jeanine Spencer)
“We wouldn’t be where we are today without the help from The Spencer Foundation. Jeanine & Co. go the extra yard to make sure that patients and families are comfortable throughout their hospital stay. Thank you to The Spencer Foundation for all that they do! We appreciate you!” – Michael
“We at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital have been very blessed with toys and love this holiday season by such a remarkable and supportive community! – Melissa

And from Jeanine Spencer:  “All of us at The Spencer Foundation would like to thank everyone that made donations and donated items for us to deliver to the kids at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital.  We are overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness of all of you – these gifts will really lift the spirits of the children who are in the hospital this holiday season!”

Very special thanks to Phoebe, who headed up a gift drive for The Spencer Foundation at her high school!  Phoebe created posters to put up in her school to spread the news to her schoolmates.  They responded generously with 87 toys and gifts that Phoebe sorted into age groups to help the staff at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital.  Said Jeanine Spencer, “Phoebe is a wonderful young woman who took this initiative and time out of her life to help make the season a lot brighter for the children at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital.”
