The Spencer Foundation sponsored a blood drive for the Long Island Blood Center at UL LLC in Melville NY on August 24th. The event brought out several first time donors for the worthy cause to give blood and the gift of life.
39 pints of blood were donated the blood drive, up from 24 units at the last blood drive. Participants that donated blood were able to choose a gift card from either Home Depot, Starbucks or the Garage Eatery. In addition, first time donors were entered into a raffle drawing for gift cards to some of our communities’ local restaurants.
