Saturday May 2nd was a banner day for turtles and friends alike as The Spencer Foundation celebrated the tenth anniversary of its creation at the North Village Tavern in Rockville Centre.

The party was a huge success, raising $2910.00 from raffle baskets to support our Sassy’s Small Stuff and scholarship programs.

During the event, the Foundation received two honors recognizing its ten years of support for children who are fighting cancer. Mayor Mike Lavorata and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Lindenhurst issued a proclamation naming Monday May 6th as Spencer Foundation Day to thank us for our work.

Judy Griffin, Assemblywoman of the 21st Assembly District of the New York State Assembly, signed a Certificate of Merit expressing the Assembly’s congratulations.

Said Jeanine Spencer, “I was truly overcome by the outpouring of love and support from so many. We have done so much together over the last 10 years for children and their families. Thank you again to everyone. “
