The Spencer Foundation and employees of UL LLC’s Melville NY office spent June 24th & 28th at Saddle Rock Ranch in Middle Island, LI, NY volunteering our time supporting a local charity kidsneedmore.org. Kids Need More sponsors a day camp for children who have serious illnesses or who are coping with other hardships. The camp is totally free and includes transportation, food, horseback riding, STEM, arts and tons of other fun activities to allow these kids to just be kids! Our team spent our time building picnic benches, spreading gravel, cleaning and repurposing used cable spools into a fun, magical area for the children to enjoy their lunch and other activities. Kids Need More truly appreciated our efforts and donations which included the cable spools (salvaged from Wire & Cable test samples) and allowed for the purchase of benches and other supplies… but mostly they were grateful for all of our hard work! Way to go to all involved! And many thanks to Dan Goss, John Bogashewicz and Kim Dempsey for making this amazing day happen!
