This week the Spencer Foundation joined forces with members from The Brandel Murphy Foundation and the Lions Clubs of West Hempstead, Massapequa, Massapequa Part and Long Island Pride to provide 100 bags for kids at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital and NYU Langone Hospital. The bags were assembled by volunteers over Memorial Day weekend, filled with clothes, puzzle books, smiley stress balls, fuzzy socks, hats and gift cards.
Teri Oster, the Lion who organized this amazing event, said, “Amazing what you can accomplish working together! One team, one mission – we serve.”
Jeanine Spencer shared, “One of my favorite sayings is that “We never stand so tall as when we stoop to help a child”. Thanks to all those who donated their time and resources to help us make a difference in a child’s life. Special shoutout to the volunteers from The Brandel Murphy Foundation and the West Hempstead, Massapequa, Massapequa Park and Long Island Pride Lions Clubs. And a very special thank you to Lion Teri Oster for pulling us all together!”
