On Wednesday July 9th, SASsy and Jeanine Spencer rolled into Stony Brook Children’s Hospital to make kids day brighter.   Hospital staff greatly appreciated our delivery of the items they requested.  Joan Albers, Director of Child Life at Stony Brook, thanked The Spencer Foundation for their continued commitment to the children undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Jeanine stated, “It’s amazing and so wonderful to know that some PlayDoh or slime can make a child forget what they are going through when they are sick, even for a little while.  Thank you to everyone that has contributed so far to our SASsy’s Santa Summer event.  We will be making another delivery to the kids at the end of August.  There is still time to help, every dollar will be matched and we will be getting the items that the kids want.  Whether it be comfy sweats and shirts or coloring books for the older kids, or Lego sets and activity books for the younger ones, with your help we will get the items that kids are looking for to help them through the day and let them know that they are not alone”.
