Several Lions Clubs got together with The Spencer Foundation and the Brandel Murphy Youth Foundation this Memorial Day weekend to make up backpacks for the children at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital and NYU Langone/Winthrop. Fifty backpacks will be delivered to Stony Brook this coming Tuesday and fifty more will be given to the children at NYU Langone/Winthrop.
Our fervent thanks go out to the members of the West Hempstead Lions Club, Massapequa Lions Club, Massapequa Park Lions Club, Long Island Pride Club and the Brandel Murphy Youth Foundation for all their work in making this happen!

Bags for all ages were made up of activity books, pencils, fish pencil sharpeners, hats, fuzzy socks, cloths, sippy cups , smiley stress balls, along with Gas and Target gift cards. The gift cards help the patients’ families manage their expenses during troubling times.
