Through the auspices of the National Children’s Cancer Society (NCCS), the Jean & Jeanine Spencer Beyond the Cure (BTC) Ambassador Scholarship Program will award $3,500 each to 5 applicants for the 2026 – 2027 academic year.

Said Jeanine Spencer, “2026 is the fourth year that The Spencer Foundation has sponsored these scholarships.  How better to give hope to a child battling cancer than to help them fulfill their dreams of a college education?  The National Children’s Cancer Society is an amazing partner, and we thank them for giving us the opportunity to support this incredible program.”

These awards are made through a competitive application process; not all applicants will receive a scholarship. To be eligible, applicants must be:

  • A childhood cancer survivor under the age of 25 and diagnosed before the age of 18 with cancer or a high grade or anaplastic brain tumor
  • A citizen of the United States living within the country and attending school in the U.S.
  • Accepted into a post-secondary school for the fall semester of upcoming academic year
  • Have a 2.5 minimum GPA
