From 2019 to 2022 The Spencer Foundation also partnered with KIDS NEED MoRE on a day camp at Saddle Rock Ranch, held each year during July at the Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, Inc. (FREE) Saddle Rock Ranch in Middle Island NY. The camp was geared towards children aged 4 through 13 years; teens aged 14 through 18 years could also participate as leaders-in-training. The camp was provided at no cost to eligible families facing life-altering challenges like serious illness or bereavement. Activities provided opportunities for kids to develop skills, take on big challenges and try new things. They included arts & crafts, nature, sports, STEM, caring for plants and animals, and horseback riding facilitated by Great Strides Long Island, another organization located at the ranch. The camp also provided trained caregivers and health care teams to ensure safety and medical needs were met at camp.
