The Foundation’s first fishing fundraiser on the Captain Eddie B III set out from Captree State Park, Oak Beach NY on Saturday September 12th.   Thirty-five happy folks set sail in search of finny excitement.  Our intrepid anglers saw a lot of action, pulling in fluke, sea bass, sea robins, blowfish and weakfish.
Our fisherfolk enjoyed a casual catered dinner of hero sandwiches, salads and soft drinks.
The Spencer Foundation raised $1280 that we will pass along to KiDS NEED MoRE of Amityville, New York.  Jeanine Spencer, President and co-founder of The Spencer Foundation stated that evening (as she often) “ I love partnering with KiDS NEED MoRE and feel a love and friendship between the two foundations that is unstoppable in bringing joy to children and their families dealing with cancer”.
Many thanks to all who participated, and especially to the captain and crew that made it all possible.  And very special thanks to all of the members of the KiDS NEED MoRE family who joined The Spencer Foundation on this expedition!  We had so much fun that we’re making it an annual event.  Mark your calendars for next year, when we’ll set sail on the second Saturday in September, 2021!
